SOUTHEAST, July 20, 2026: cbdMD's Oasis hemp-derived THC beverage line reached South Carolina liquor stores this week, the company announced July 14, placing the brand in a state where such drinks carry no purchase age restriction.
The rollout covers the brand's full portfolio, including its Social Tonic seltzer line, THC-infused shots, and Mixer, a zero-proof spirit-style product the company describes as its first entry into that format. Products are stocked at retailers including Frugal MacDoogal, according to the company's announcement. cbdMD's own materials are inconsistent on who is distributing: the company's press release names Mexcor, while subsequent trade coverage and a companion release for a Louisiana expansion name Morales Beverage Group.
South Carolina remains the region's most permissive market. Reworked bills that would have restricted sales of THC-infused drinks and edibles to buyers 21 and over failed in June, according to The Current, leaving the products available without an age gate.
Nationally, measured retail sales of THC beverages reached $239 million, Forbes reported July 20, while total off-premise alcohol dollars declined 3.3 percent over the same period. Legislation to delay the federal cap on total THC per container remained at committee referral as of July 20, according to the same report.
Two of the region's larger markets have bills pending that would tighten rules. Georgia's SB 33 would revise testing, labeling, and certificate-of-analysis standards, and according to the U.S. Hemp Roundtable would adopt the federal 0.4mg per container language, a threshold well below the state's current 10mg per 12-ounce beverage limit. In Florida, HB 801 would build a licensing and enforcement structure specifically for THC-infused beverages, defining the category to capture seltzers, sodas, mocktails, and cocktails made with intoxicating hemp cannabinoids.
Elsewhere in the region, frameworks held steady: Louisiana continues to cap beverages at 5mg per serving through ATC-licensed retailers, Alabama at 10mg per serving through ABC Board licensees, while Mississippi and Arkansas maintain effective prohibitions.
